Spotlight on SLOVAKIA:The people of Slovakia are descended from the Slavic peoples who settled the Danube river basin in the 6th and 7th centuries B.C.E. On January 1, 1993 Slovakia became an independent nation-state, recognized by the United Nations and its member states. Although some aspects of the society already had a unique national character, namely the language, many of the customs, laws and conventions were still deeply influenced by past rulers: Czechs, Hungarians and the Austrian Habsburgs. However the deep traditions, some dating back hundreds of years, of the Slovak people underlie the apparent nascency of the Slovak Republic.

Slovakian Cultural TwistSome music can be seen and heard @ the Metropolitan Room November 23-26 at 10 p.m. LUBA MASON: THE COLLAGE TOUR $30 cover + two drinks RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED(212) 206-0440Recently tapped by Ruben Blades as a guest vocalist on his 2003 GRAMMY-WINNING album "MUNDO", the very sexy Luba Mason delivered a rendition of "Danny Boy" that was hailed as "celestial" by the L.A. Times and "soaring" by the Boston Globe. Theatre goers already know Luba from her starring roles on Broadway in "JEKYLL & HYDE", "THE CAPEMAN", "CHICAGO"and "HOW TO SUCCEED...", but MUNDO opened up a whole new audience.

Morning Lucia,

I enjoyed the history lesson on the people of Slovakia.

If I lived in New York or close by I would attend the events you recommend. Sounds like fun.

I went to your website, http://www.timelesslight.net, and found some very interesting stuff.

You are on the right path with your views of Timelesslight.

Respectfully,
