A book of condolence at the Consulate General in NYC

The Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York with profound sadness has the honor to inform of a tragic traffic accident of a bus that occurred near the city of Gospicin the Republic of Croatia on Sunday September 7, 2008 around 6 o’clock in the morning. The accident claimed the lives of at least fourteen Slovak citizens.

The Government of the Slovak Republic has declared a 24-hour period of national mourning, commencing at 12.00 noon Central European Time on Tuesday September 9, 2008 and ending at 12.00 noon Central European Time on Wednesday September 10, 2008.

A book of condolence will be available for signing at the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic, 801 Second Avenue (between 42nd and 43rd Street), 12 Floor, New York, NY 10017 on Tuesday September 9, 2008 from 3.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. and on Wednesday September 10, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
